November is diabetes awareness month. Yesterday, we saw a video about diabetes and kicked off our "Kids Walk to Cure Diabetes" that will take place on Saturday November 14th at Lone Star High School. Each day leading up to the walk, you will learn something about diabetes. Here is today's information: There are two types of diabetes, Type 1 and Type 2. Type 1 is a condition when your pancreas no longer produces the insulin you need to survive. Insulin is a hormone that is necessary to move sugar into the cells in your body so that you have energy. We all need this energy to work, learn, and play. Tomorrow we will learn more. Don't forget to get your friends and family to donate online.
